Stasia (スタシア, Sutashia) better known by her stage name May Jay is a Russian R&B Pop singer, who graduated from the Russian State University of Management in Moscow in 2011.
May Jay made her major label debut under 13th Record Studio Russia on June 30, 2008 with her first single Not Ur Girl.
May Jay was born on August, 1988 to a Russian father and a mother of Russian descent. At the age of 16, May Jay was successful at a Anime Music Russian audition and soon signed into Anime Music.
Released September 21, 2008 under R&B Pro Discs, the hip-hop division of 13th Studio Records, the music of her debut single Not Ur Girl has been described as "Koda Kumi/Kelly Rowland-type music which has never before existed in Russia."
While she is yet to breakthrough to mainstream success, music critics have praised her vocal abilities.
That said, some fans consider her voice to lack substance, while others believe her voice changes depending on the production of the song. To celebrate the 5 year anniversary of R&B Pro Discs, the single "Make Wings & Fly Away" was released on October 4, 2009 .
December 22 saw her first solo single release when "M.W.& F.A." dropped and charted at #84 on the weekly charts.
In November 2009, she became the co-host of the JHN music radio program 'Karaoke chat', with Sidney Don.
On November 14, 2010, she released a mini-album titled "Childhood" as a prelude to her upcoming album "Best 〜ロマンチックな曲〜。".
On December 31,2010 May Jay released an album titled "Christmas Eve" & performed one of the songs 'All i want for Christmas' at the Moscow CROWN PLAZA night club on New Year's Eve.
On January 20, 2011, she released her album " Best 〜ロマンチックな曲〜。"
On march 24, 2011 May Jay was involved in creating intro for new album named " Moscow Finest DJ'S " wich was made by DJ York, one of the famouse DJ's in Russia.
On May 2012 ,May Jay was involved in creating Club mix album named " VIP R&B Mix " for DJ Sweet, one of the famouse DJ's in Samara (RU).
On March 15,2013 , May Jay will release her new single "Move On" which will involve singer's : Stivie (USA) & DOUBLER (RU).
